We are so excited to announce that Golam has been adopted by his foster family. We pulled him from the ACC kill list with only 32 minutes to spare after one of the amazing shelter volunteers and RR supporters alerted us to this super special fellow. Golam has helped his forever fur brother become more social and confident ever since his arrival in May. He has been a true blessing to his family in so many ways. Here Golam is with his forever brother out to dinner in Manhattan with his parents. Happy life sweet boy.
Our sweet velvet seal pup Angie has found her forever family:) We pulled her off the kill list from MACC this past April as soon as we saw her. There was just something about her when we looked into her eyes. We knew we were meant to help her. Angie has been in her forever home for a few weeks now and she and her sister are inseparable. Thank you to her amazing dad for opening up his heart and home to Angie.
We are ecstatic to announce that Stanley, who is quite possibly the biggest meatball we have ever met has been adopted by his phenomenal foster family. His mom tells us that while they weren’t looking to adopt, Stanley became a member of the family from the moment he arrived, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. She went on to say they are very proud foster failures. His jolly disposition and easy going attitude also won over the hearts of his now forever fur siblings Darla and Spanky J
We rescued Stanley of the kill list from Animal Care and Control in March. He had an extremely serious case of kennel cough that took weeks and many rounds of antibiotics before it finally cleared up. Words can’t express how thrilled we are that we were able to give Stanley his fairy-tale ending.
We have finally stopped jumping up and down long enough to announce Ivy has found her forever mommy!
After seeing Ivy online her now mom contacted us to set up a meet and greet. Despite having only lost her dog to illness a short time ago Donna felt an undeniable connection with Ivy when she saw her picture. When the two met for the first time we could see there was an instant bond. Towards the end of the meet and greet we were asked something we have never been asked before, Donna asked if she could do a cuddle test with Ivy. Any of you who know Ivy know cuddling is one of her specialties and sure enough the next day we received the news that Donna wanted to welcome Ivy into her family. She said she hadn't stopped thinking about her since our meeting.
The following weekend, wearing the biggest smiles you can imagine, we drove Ivy home. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Donna and her son Andrew. Donna told us how she had been up since 3am because she was so excited for Ivy's arrival. We recently received a beautiful card in the mail from Donna that said “I don’t believe in coincidence. I know exactly why Ivy was not previously adopted. She was meant for me and me for her”.
Ivy has lived with each of us here at RR and we love her more than our words could ever express . She has been in our rescue since she and her 8 newborn pups were surrendered to us on July 23rd 2015. Sadly Ivy had been confined to a tiny backyard in Far Rockaway. This was her entire world, day in and day out. But luck was on her side, and while Ivy becoming pregnant might not have seemed like a blessing at the time to her, it proved to be her ticket to freedom. After giving birth outside on a hot July day her owners’ realized that she and her new family were too much for them to care for. They made the responsible decision to surrender her and her pups to our rescue. Finally 316 days later Ivy has found her way home and we are overjoyed.
Ivy and her puppies rescue would not have been possible without so many of you
Young Archie is officially home, he has actually been there since shortly after his rescue. You see his foster mom has fallen head over heels in love and just can't let him go. Initially she thought she could, but she just can't, so with that we announce Archie is adopted!
Archie's rescue was anything but ordinary. We were called by a family in Far Rockaway asking for help for a puppy they claimed to have found running loose. We immediately got him admitted to our vet as he needed immediate medical treatment for a horrific case of mange, in fact the worst our vet has seen.
A few days later the people who surrendered him to us start calling and texting repeatedly asking for him back. And now they were telling a different story. They now claimed they had actually had him for over a month before they called us and that they knew he had mange but didn't treat it. Instead they let it continue to get so bad poor Archie’s skin was cracking and bleeding all over. We swiftly explained to them that they had legally surrendered him to us and they were never getting him back. This is when their antics escalated and not only did they continue to harass us, but also our vet where Archie still was. While seeking immediate help from our local NYPD friends we arranged for Archie to be whisked away to safety. Enter his fairy godmother aka foster mom turned forever mom.
Today Archie is still receiving treatment for his mange but he is healing beautifully and lives the life he always dreamed of. He has a family who dotes on him and cherishes every little thing about him. He even gets to help his mom when she trains other doggies. Thank you to his forever family for giving Archie the life he truly deserves.
With happy tears streaming down our faces we announce our Dempsey has officially been adopted! Just look at him in Central Park with his mommy, so happy, healthy and confident. This boy has been to hell and back and not only has he survived but he has triumphed.
We rescued Dempsey seven months ago after his owner went to jail for gang activity. The people who surrendered him to us said he had been confined to the house’s basement for at least one year and admittedly only fed him "every now and then." The horrors he faced were evident by his horribly emaciated body that was covered in cuts and gashes when we first met him. He was missing most of his hair on his back and his toenails were so long they curled over. Unfortunately after his initial examination at our vet it was discovered that Dempsey also suffered some muscular damage in his hind leg caused by being stuffed into a tiny crate in the basement where he was cruelly kept.
Dempsey’s strength and perseverance through the year he was locked in the basement is a testament to his character. After all he endured he held no grudges and he kept hope alive that there was a better life for him ahead. Dempsey was fortunate enough to decompress in the loving arms of Canine Counsel where he was able to run free for the first time in his life. Tuncay said his heart broke when he watched as Dempsey stopped running, stood still, closed his eyes, and put his nose to the sky and sniffed real freedom for the first time. This marked the beginning of the rest of his life. Today Dempsey lives with his forever mom, dad and even has a kitty brother. He is a super well adjusted fellow who loves meeting and greeting everyone including dogs of all sizes while strolling around Manhattan.
Look who's been adopted by his long time foster family...The Goose! Our flipper footed boy was returned to us back in October through no fault of his own and we initially were so devastated for him, but we realized it was for the best and they didn't deserve him anyway. Goose settled in nicely in his loving foster home on Long Island and well the rest is history. Goose is now a full-fledged member of the family and he even has a parrot brother.
We rescued The Goose from a kill shelter in NJ where he had been taken in as a stray multiple times. Three certainly is his lucky number because the third time he was picked up running his owners didn’t reclaim him which is when we stepped in.
We are ecstatic for Goose that he is exactly where he should be . He couldn't be loved more. A huge thank you to Goose’s original superstar foster family and everyone who shared his story. We can’t save these babies without you.
We pulled Maya, formerly Masha from a NJ kill shelter the beginning of this year after she had been abandoned there by someone who claimed to be her rescuer. This woman had failed this precious dog multiple times and the last time when Maya ended up in the city shelter it almost got her killed. When we heard that the “rescuer” refused to pick her up we stepped in to ensure Maya would be given the opportunity to have a real life full of love. With the help of our trainer, her foster mom Gina and her dad Rich we have done just that. Today our girl is living the life she truly deserves with her fur brother Brody and her dad and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you to all of you for all your help with our girl.
We are so excited to announce that our Lucas has been adopted. He has been in his new home with his dad now for a few weeks and is doing fantastic. Lucas has come a long way since we rescued him from NJ where he was spending his days chained to a door. He now has a life full of love with a dad who is committed to giving our boy the best life ever. Lucas loves spending time at daycare socializing and exercising with other doggies while his dad is at work. A huge thank you to everyone who shared Lucas’ story.
We are ecstatic that this morning we were able to reunite Max with his incredibly loving family! On Wednesday we received an urgent call from a caring Far Rockaway resident pleading with us to help a dog he had found running the streets the night before. The poor dog was going to be heading to the dreaded Animal Care & Control that very afternoon. We couldn’t let this happen so we had him immediately checked into our vet.
On Thursday night his original hero was contacted by the person who he had been with when he caught the dog informing him there were posters appearing around Far Rockaway and the picture looked like the dog. On Friday morning we made contact with the owners and spoke to them at length about what happened. Max had gotten out of the front gate when one of their kids didn’t latch it properly. The family has had Max three years since rescuing him from a neighbor and nothing like this has ever happened before. They were devastated when he got lost. In addition to hanging flyers they had been out all hours of the night looking for him. It was clear to us that the right thing to do was to return Max his incredibly loving family. And with that we made plans to bring him home this morning. While walking Max up to his house I could hear one of the kids yelling “Max is home, Max is home”! A few seconds later the front door swung open and we were all crying and hugging. Max was so excited he could hardly contain himself. It was such a moving moment and we are so happy we could be a part of it.
While the family may not have a lot of money Max did have shots last year and had been to a vet. It just wasn’t in their budget to have him neutered or microchipped. Most people we encounter would be so mad that we neutered their dog but this family was thankful. Max is now fixed, chipped, up to date on all shots, had a fecal test and HW test while staying with the loving staff at Animal Hospital of the Rockaways. He is started on Heartguard and has flea and tick preventative as well. We are convinced we were meant to meet Max, his amazing family and the heroes who initially found him for a reason.
We are overjoyed to announce that our perfect pint sized princess has been adopted. We pulled Jules to safety back in January from a high kill shelter in NJ but her rescue was months in the making. Jules had been at this very same shelter months before in 2015 and we were unable to rescue her because her owner reclaimed her. Fortunately luck was on her side the second time around. Jules is enjoying her new life in Manhattan, especially the part where she gets to play with all her doggie friends at the park. We can’t thank her mom Stacey, her foster mom Samantha or Foster Dogsnyc enough for helping make her dreams come true. Happy life sweet baby, we all love you so much.
We are ecstatic to announce that Scrappy has found his forever home. We couldn't be happier with the family that scrappy picked for himself. Congratulations Scrappy, Penny & Stanley, and mom & dad. This is the puppy of the two car-lot dogs in Newark that our fellow rescuer Jackie spent her entire morning on the coldest day of the year to trying to get set up so they wouldn't freeze to death. While she went home to get crates for both pups, the lot guys fed the two of them together, and the big dog went after puppy Scrappy. Understandably, because these dogs were famished and never know when their next meal is coming. Because of the injury the owner let Jackie leave with the puppy to get him to the vet right away which is when we welcomed him into our rescue. Happy life sweet boy, we are so happy you made it out of there.
We are so excited that Mary has found her forever mommy. She has been adopted by the loving vet tech who took care of her while she was in the emergency hospital after her rescue. We rescued Mary and her sister Martha after they were transported here from Texas without ever being checked out by a vet and with no shots. The irresponsible party decided once the pups arrived that they didn’t want them which is when we stepped in. As it turned out both babies were sick and ended up having to go to the emergency hospital for treatment. Mary actually had to stay there for a while which is when she met her mom. We are so thankful both gals are now happy, healthy and adopted today. Thank you to all of you for all of your support.
Gorgeous gal Martha now known as Aeris has found her forever home. Not only does she have 2 furry cat siblings to play with and two amazing parents, but she has one of the most amazing grandma's as well. Happy life sweet girl.
We are over the moon with joy that beautiful Ariel now known as Brandy is home forever. Her incredibly special foster family, now forever family stepped up to help her after she was returned after only a day through no fault of her own by her original adopters. Brandy is extremely lucky to have both human and fur siblings as well as a loving mom and dad. And to say she is happy with her new life is an understatement. We are so happy for everyone.
Andre, now known as Moose has officially been adopted by his loving foster mommy and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We rescued Andre this past summer from a backyard breeder who was about to dump him at a high kill shelter when we stepped in. This precious pup with a love for the outdoors found his perfect match with his now forever mom as they enjoy hiking, running, swimming and a myriad of other activities together. Thank you to everyone who shared Andre’s story and to our friends at K-9 Corner where Moose has gone to daycare since early on in his foster. We couldn’t save these babies without you all.
We are ecstatic to announce that our Wilson has found his forever family and s finally home. Initially Wilson was rescued by the loving staff at Animal Hospital of Rockaways. A heartless man came in one afternoon with him and said that he found Wilson running the streets. He went on to say if the vet didn't agree to take him right then he would turn him loose again and let him get hit by a car. So our vet took him in and called us and together we saved him. Happy life sweet boy, we all love you so much!
We are so happy to announce that our Blossom has officially been adopted by her amazing parents Jeff and Christine and her beloved sister Cali. It was immediately apparent when we brought Blossom to their house as a foster that this was truly a match meant to be forever. We rescued Blossom from a high kill shelter with the help of our NJ Associates. Blossom was found running the streets of Patterson, NJ and while she faced a grim outcome it all worked out and she will now be cherished forever. Happy life sweet girl, we all love you so much.
Just as we suspected, our perfect pup Carter crawled his way right into the hearts of his awesome foster parents, and they have officially foster failed 🙌
We knew these fosters were particularly special when we found out our boy was Heartworm positive, and they unequivocally committed to seeing him all the way through the long treatment process.
And now they made the fairytale complete by adding Carter to their pack, who includes Cooper, Carter's fur brother, and four kitty siblings.
We couldn't be happier for all involved and want to say a huge thank you to Kerry & Ryan for being awesome pawrents
We are so thrilled that our precious Cleo has been adopted to an incredibly loving family on Long Island and they just couldn’t love her more. When they first contacted us about Cleo her now mom tells us how her husband kept calling her asking her to hurry up and submit the application because they didn’t want to lose out. By the time we called her back to arrange a meeting Cleo was already her screensaver on her phone. They felt an immediate connection and to her and it was just meant to be. Thank you to everyone who shared, cared and prayed for Cleo.
We are so excited to announce that our little Kenny has found his forever home! This sweet little boy has found the perfect match in his new fur sister and loving parents. The two dogs are extremely bonded and enjoy playing and napping together. A huge thank you to everyone who shared his story.
Our craigslist rescue Diego has officially been adopted and we couldn’t be more pleased. He has been in his forever home for a while now with his mom, dad and furever sister Roxie. Like their other rescue dog Diego’s mom and dad fell in love with him when they saw his picture online and the rest is history. Our boy went from living in a very dangerous neighborhood in NJ, where he faced living a life of horrors as he was put up for sale to the highest bidder, to having an extremely loving home on Long Island. We are so grateful for this outcome and thank you to everyone who shared his story and helped make this possible. We couldn’t save these babies without you.
Look who found furever, our last minute death row rescue Lucy! This gorgeous chocolate teddy bear of a girl was literally on borrowed time when we posted that we needed fosters to save her life. Well, not only did so many of you step up to foster, we also had numerous adopters After a successful meet and greet with her new fur brother Roman, Lucy was soon on her way home. We want to thank everyone again who stepped up to save this girl's life. We just can't do this without you all.
Normally when we post an adopted photo, it's a family pic of new parents smiling and fur babies usually blurry from wagging excitement... But when Andy's new parents sent me this pic today, I thought it was so much more meaningful and poignant.
You see, young Andy has been adopted by a great young couple who adopted a sweet, battered little girl only a few months ago. The abuse she endured was horrific as a suspected bait puppy. She has a little heart of gold, but she still is quite shy and unsure around anyone new.
Well, 30 seconds after meeting Andy, these two did not stop kissing, rolling, wrestling and romping for an hour and 20 minutes straight. This little girl completely blossomed in young Andy's presence and it was beyond beautiful to witness. To see these two now curled up sleeping so comfortably, just makes my heart swell ❤️. There is no doubt in my mind these two kindred spirits sought each other out to make their new little lives totally complete.
We are so happy we were able to save Andy from being brought to Acc with only a few hours to spare. Andy's young 18 year old owner loved him very much, but unfortunately her parents despised him because he was a pitbull and refused to care for him when she was out for very long days at work and school.
Congratulations Andy... I miss your velvety soft great white shark head so much already, but you're exactly where you were really meant to be ❤️
We are thrilled to announce that our Sara has been officially adopted by one of our most amazing vet techs at Animal Hospital of Rockaways Sara was carried into our vet back in May, paralyzed with fear, by some of our loving NYPD officer friends who were called when she was found tied to a pole petrified. Immediately Sara found comfort in Shadeanah’s loving arms and from that very moment a bond that is so strong between the two was born. Shadeanah began fostering Sara almost immediately and it has been made very clear by Sara that this is the only mommy she ever wants. Sara is such an incredibly shy dog around everyone unless her mom is around. We are so happy Shadeanah feels the same about Sara because we really don’t think she would be happy with anyone else.
It is with absolute elation and happy tears streaming down our faces that we announce our Lux has found her forever family. We rescued this stunning girl six months ago just in the nick of time as she was about to be given to a backyard breeder. Since her rescue Lux has spent time living with each of us here at RR and in that time we have all developed deep bonds with her. We kept telling Lux that an extremely special forever family was coming for her and this is why it was taking so long. We are so thankful to the Masino’s for helping us keep our promise. Lux couldn’t be happier in her home. She has an extremely special connection with her human siblings as she does her mom and dad. This was no doubt her best Christmas ever. Happy New Year, happy new life our sweet girl. We love you so much.
We are thrilled to announce that Chester is officially home for the holidays. We met this 8 year old Maltese after his very elderly owner who fell ill and did not leave her home for the last two years of her life passed away. The Good Samaritan who was helping Chester's owner until the owners passing then took Chester in only to be diagnosed with cancer herself. So we welcomed this little boy to Redemption Rescues and almost immediately his now forever family began fostering him. They have come to realize that they don't want to ever be without this little guy and have welcomed him to their family.
And our super sweet angel Truffle finds her furever family. So happy for you baby girl, enjoy your new wonderful, safe life! Truffle was being given away for free through social media after an oops litter and we were alerted to her need for rescue, as we all know the dangers of giving dogs and puppies away for free.
This is an incredibly special post for us. Our words can't quite properly express how ecstatic we are that our Chooch (Church) has been adopted. We met this incredibly special boy in April when we partnered with Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs to save him. We saved him together in memory of Teddy, another dog we had worked together to save, who ultimately lost his fight with parvo, and the infections that riddled his body from the severe abuse he suffered. Chooch was initially rescued one night by some loving police officers that found him abandoned behind a church in Queens. Turned out he too was also suffering from parvo and required 24 hour care in the hospital which is when we stepped in. All of us here at RR have developed very special relationships with Chooch since the time of his rescue as he has lived with each of us in our homes. He also was fortunate enough to have spent time with trainer Rex Hughes who ultimately found him his forever home. Chooch has been living with his forever family now for a few weeks and doing fantastic. We are so honored to have been part of his journey in helping him find his way home. We love you forever Chooch. Thank you to everyone who shared, cared, prayed and donated to get him will. Thank you to the amazing staff at Verg South and Animal Hospital of Rockaways for taking such wonderful care of our boy.
We are elated to announce that our fabulous Binky boy has been adopted. He has been with his forever family for a few weeks now and everyone is so happy together. We first met our Binky when we were called to help a quivering pit bull who was found by some caring kids stuck deep in the thick brush behind a day camp in Broad Channel. We snagged him with a snag pole and bolt cutters in hand, we freed him from the rope that was strangling him and were able to pull him out to safety. He was terrified and was suffering from mange. Once again one of the incredibly loving staff members at Animal Hospital of Rockaways opened up after hours to let us in and that marked the beginning of Binky new life. A life now filled with love, caring and compassion for him. Binky is such a special soul and we all have been privileged to witness his transformation to the healthy boy he is today. We are so thankful to his initial foster family and everyone who cared, shared, prayed and donated to get him well. To everyone on TEAM BINKY, we thank you.
We are so excited for our beautiful pup Skye who has officially found her forever home. Her new family couldn't love her more and she simply adores them. Skye was initially rescued by some of our loving friends at the NYPD.
And without further ado we are so excited to announce that the last of Ivy’s pups, Wallace, has been adopted. Wallace has been with his forever family now for a few weeks and everyone is having so much fun. We couldn’t be happier hearing all about how this little guy has perfectly completed their family. Thank you to everyone who was a part of helping rescue this beautiful family.
This is such a special adoption post for so many reasons... Our perfect Patton, an absolute ambassador for the breed, raising pitbull awareness not only in this month designated for it, but every day of his life, has found furever... Patton was yanked off the kill list in a New Jersey shelter with just minutes to spare. We so desperately wanted to save him, but it wasn't until superstar foster mom stepped up to take him in, that we were able to save his life. Fast forward to the droves of applicants who wanted to make Patton a part of their family, by chance, this family who needed Patton the most just so happened to get their application in first. You see, they had adopted their first fur baby, Lancer, some time ago. Turns out poor Lancer had incredible separation anxiety and fear aggression towards new people. Much to my delight, I came to learn the lengths this family went to to get help for lancer, NOT just give up on him because he had some issues... In comes Patton: Their trainer suggested getting Lancer a dog companion, as it may ease his anxiety, and they chose Patton. After a successful meet and greet, it appeared it was a match made in heaven. Patton had an instantaneous effect on Lancer, immediately changing his nervous, slightly aggressive energy to excited and social. Even when the trainer stopped by to check on the match, he couldn't believe Lancer was trying to get in his lap and give hundreds of kisses... He said, "This is a different dog", and the rest is history... Patton, Lancer and family are living the life they all deserve, and Patton is serving such an incredible purpose as Lancer's "service dog" This is why we do what we do ❤.Congratulations Patton. We love you.
Our cool, calm and laid back boy Henry has found his forever home and his fur sibling is in the form of a cat The two have become thick as thieves since Henry joined the family a few weeks ago. We are so happy for our boy. And so thankful to his forever family.
We are ecstatic to announce that Ralphie, now known as Goose has been adopted and he just couldn't be adored more. We are thrilled that our boy has found his forever family. We met Ralphie when we were contacted by a good samaritan who took him in after witnesses saw him being thrown from a car on the parkway. We are so happy that it is only wonderful times ahead for our boy.
So thrilled to announce Stewie has found his forever mommy and daddy. This little guy was found wandering around on a rainy day by a good samariatan who brought him to us. Happy life sweet boy.
We are elated to announce that our abandoned Queens puppy Courtney aka Tic Tac, rescued by NYPD, has found furever home. Congratulations to both our tiny angel and her new mom who met Courtney at the amazing doggie daycare Chasing Tails while Courtney was being fostered by Friends of PitBulls. We are so happy for our girl.
We are thrilled to announce that Taz (Jacob) has found his forever home! We are so thankful to his parents for loving him so much. And we are so thankful to our foster hero family who introduced us to them.
So thrilled Gus has found his forever home with his amazing parents and doggie brother Louie. It really couldn't be a better fit. And we are so thankful to our foster hero family who introduced us to them.
Max (Adam) has found his forever home! Here he is with his wonderful parents. One more pup from mama Ivy's litter that is so lucky to have found his people.
We are ecstatic to announce that our Mercy has been adopted. This sweet, scared earth angel was in very rough shape when we met her but just look at her now. She has been in the most amazing foster home where she has been showered with love and turns out this is where she will stay. Her incredibly loving foster mom just can’t part with Mercy and has officially given Mercy her forever home.
We are so grateful to our friends at the NYPD who brought her to us after they got a "vicious" pit bull call. When they arrived at the scene, there was Mercy, not only curled up in the middle of the sidewalk in the pouring rain, but laying so still they thought she was dead. They gave one whistle and opened the patrol car door and she meandered over and lumbered in. We are so honored to have been part of her journey to her new life of health and happiness.
Bella and Moo (Cricket)
We are thrilled to announce that our foster hero family, who took in Ivy and her pups when they were just days old are now adopting two of them. We are so excited that Bella and Moo (Cricket) are home forever. And we are so thankful to them for all the hard work put in by their entire family to care for Ivy and her babies. Here are Bella and Moo with the family’s other doggies Ashley and Diesel.
Simone has officially been adopted by her incredibly loving foster family who she has been with since shortly after her rescue a few months ago. Thank you so much to her amazing family for opening their hearts and home to Simone. We couldn't be happier for our girl. Simone not only survived running the streets but also made it out of a high kill shelter.
Our sweet little girl Melody, lovingly known as Legs has been adopted and we are so excited for her. She was disgarded like trash at a NJ restop bathroom and was so petrified she wouldn't walk. Well those days are over now and it is only wonderful times ahead thanks to her amazing parents and of course her foster family as well. Congratulations sweet baby!
Our petite princess Sasha has found furever home! Sasha not only survived running the streets but also made it out of a high kill shelter. Now she is safe with her furever family in their loving home. Sasha also an awesome fur brother Howard! Congratulations baby girl. You are now getting the life you so deserve.
Our sweet bully bear Sherman has found his furever home! We rescued Sherman from a high kill shelter when he only had hours left to live. We are so thankful to his new parents and fur sister Georgia for welcoming our meatball into their happy home. Congratulations to you all. We couldn't be happier.
This is Diesel and his new family, he came to us as a Craigslist rescue when he was a wee 6 months old. Diesel had been adopted a while back, but unfortunately his owner fell on hard times and had to move back home.
Unfortunately again, Diesel's extended family didn't care for him too much and they said he had to go. We took diesel back in, sent our boy to our Manhattan superstar trainer Rex Hughes to brush up on his commands, from there he went to foster and from there he was adopted almost immediately. He's doing amazing in his new home and we couldn't be happier. Congrats Diesel!
It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that our Annabelle, now known as Daisy has found her forever home. This perfect little lady first came to us when her owners tried repeatedly to make her run away from her home in Brooklyn. When she didn't want to leave, they actually dumped her right in the vestibule of the nearest NYPD precinct.
Fast forward to today and our girl is in the most loving home. We just couldn't be happier!
Brandy, our throw away junkyard mama who went to her incredibly wonderful foster to adopt home a few weeks ago is officially adopted. To see where our girl came from and where she is today is why we do what we do. When we first met this precious earth angel she had just about given up. Slowly, with each passing day, with each gentle touch of our loving hands, the light returned to her eyes. Today Brandy is happy, healthy and carefree. We are so thankful to her forever family for opening up their hearts and home to her. Here she is with her dad.
Nala, now known as Lily, has found furever home! This sweet angel found herself looking for a new home at only 6 months old. She was very shy of almost everything, but with the love, patience and guidance of her new family and one of our amazing trainers Lily has blossomed into the most beautiful pup, inside and out. Congratulations Lily!
This little angel originally came from the same junkyard as one of our other rescues, Patrick, who has since been adopted. However we ended up rescuing Guppy from a NJ kill shelter when he was picked up after running the dangerous streets by himself one night. We are so excited that Guppy has now found his forever family.
We are so happy that Snuggles how found her forever home! This sweet little lady is a craigslist ad rescue. Her original owners bought her from a backyard breeder and did not check with the landlord before bringing her home. When they were given one day to find a new home for her, they turned to the dreaded craigslist ads.Luckily, one of our supporters saw the ad and alerted us to it.
We are so excited for Annie Jane, now known as Maggie May. Our littlest earth angel has found her forever home with one of the loving staff members at our amazing vet Animal Hospital of the Rockaways. We couldn't be happier for this outcome.
This tiny nugget was just recently rescued by a Good Samaritan in Brooklyn. Her former owners were in a pet store carrying on about returning a bunny to the store when our Good Samaritan overheard. The store refused to take the bunny back so our GS stepped up to take the bunny.
The family brought the bunny over to her house and she thought that was the end of it. Until a day later the family showed up asking her to take this sweet little girl as well, which she did. The good Samaritan called us and the rest is history.
Our sweet earth angel we named Jewel was found absolutely starving, scared and left for dead, tied to a fence in Brooklyn by a rope around her neck. She was found by some amazing NYPD officers who took her back to the precinct and then called us.
We did not hesitate to get this girl immediately admitted into our amazing vet Animal Hospital of Rockaways for some very much needed medical care. It didn't take long for every single person that saw her photo or crossed her path to fall completely in love with her. Even though her pain was brought on by humans, she did not harbor animosity. In fact, it was the complete opposite. She could not wait for the loving touch of human hands when she arrived at the hospital. She KNEW she was finally safe and she embraced it, looking forward to the future only, and leaving her pain in the past.
We couldn't be happier that Jewel is officially home and her fosters have failed! Jewel was adopted by her wonderful foster family and we are absolutely thrilled. Congratulations Jewel, you have everything you so deserve in your life now.
aka Muppet now known as Olive has been adopted. This little girl was found in the Bronx filthy, matted and covered in motor oil. She was being kicked by some kids on the street. We took her in, got her vetted by our amazing vet and now she has been adopted into a wonderful forever home . She's now living the life in the big city with awesome doting parents. We are thrilled for this outcome.
Our 9 year old chihuahua Benji was surrenderd to us after being neglected for quite some time. Fortunately for Benji his troubles are over as he has been adopted into one of the most loving families ever. He has four doggie siblings, a cat sibling and we are thrilled to report they all get along beautifully. Instead of being locked in a room for days on end with no food, water or light, Benji enjoys sleeping under the covers at night now with he forever parents and all his animal siblings.
Our sweetheart pocket bully Hazel has been adopted. This would not have been possible without the absolute selflessness of foster mom @freedomofanimals. Morgan opened her heart and her home even though she's in the midst of her own turmoil over her lost dog Sugar. She put aside her own needs and sorrow to give a chance to another dog in need, our Hazel. And with that, she found Hazel's amazing new furever family.
Princess was abandoned on the streets of Far Rockaway while wearing a pink tutu. Near her was a box with other clothes inside for her and some torn up bread that we guess was supposed to keep her tummy full. Fortunately for this precious chihuahua we immediately got her to safety. She spent a few days at our wonderful vet's office where she was fully vetted and spayed. While she was there one of the loving vet techs fell in love with her and adopted her.
We were alerted to a starving 6 year old named Toby. A social worker who visited family members in Toby's home called us when he knew the family wasn't feeding their dog. He bought food for them just thinking they couldn't afford it, but on his next visit all the food bags remained unopened. When he asked why they weren't being used, he was told they didn't feed Toby so he wouldn't poop because nobody took him out...
Fast forward to our rescue of him, we got him immediately vetted and into a very special foster home.
We knew upon arrival that we might be looking at a foster fail situation, and lo and behold we were!
Toby's foster parents fell in love immediately and knew they could never let him go.
Congratulations Toby... You deserve this wonderful new leash on life ❤️
We were alerted to Patrick being sold on Craigslist for $20 in an area of NJ notorious for dog fighting and we knew we had to get him out. Very good rescue friends on mine jumped into action, going to the junkyard where Patrick was born of a Rottie father and a red nose pitbull mom, and securing his safety at a moments notice.
It didn't take long for the staff at our vet to completely fall in love. One of the vet techs fostered him while he awaited his neuter, and not surprisingly, we have a major foster fail!
Congratulations baby Patrick, you now have the life you were meant to live ❤️
On a side note, we did attempt to rescue Patrick's mom & dad from the junkyard but the owner would not surrender. We were able to convince him to let us vet and spay the mom, so at least there won't be any more puppies.
Our sweet (first non-pit) Toby2 has found furever home with our good friend Barbara 🙏
This little guy found himself looking for a new home at 7 years old due to family issues that ultimately caused him to suffer from anxiety.
He has been taken in by these wonderful people who were adamant about gaining his trust and showing him the way, with the help of our wonderful trainer.
We could not be happier with this amazing outcome. Congratulations Toby2!
May & Emmy
Our Craigslist brindle baby Emmy, who was being sold very cheap in a not so great area by her owners who got her as a Valentine's Day gift and couldn't be bothered with her, and our other brindle baby Mya, who was dumped at a NJ kill shelter at only 2.5 months old... Have found furever home TOGETHER 🙏
We are over the moon with this news and we couldn't be happier for their amazing new family John, Jill and Jessie. Congratulations baby girls!
A while back I received a call from NYPD 113th precinct about a terrified, trembling little boy they found abandoned and injured, and thought to be an escaped bait dog due to the bite marks all over his little legs.
I knew immediately he was one special little soul and we had to save him. While myself and MANY other valued friends in this rescue family scrambled to find accommodations for him, the precinct held onto him for an unheard of two days while we secured him a safe place.
Fast forward to all of the gracious donations received for his care, the sharing, reposting and prayers, and especially the fosters who opened their homes to him, Rocky has found his amazing furever home 🙏
Rocky now truly has the life he so deserves ❤️
We love you buddy!
A few weeks back we were alerted to a 7 month old angel on death row, and her time was up... It was a Friday, and she was slated for euthanasia Monday morning after a failed adoption attempt by a family.
With plea postings that resulted in an outpouring of support and help, financial and otherwise, I grabbed this angel to safety.
The second I picked Hannah up, I knew she was beyond special. While she's still only a pup, she has an old-soul air about her... She has the most expressive slate blue eyes that tell her whole story with just a glance...
She got the full treatment at my wonderful vet and then went into foster temporarily, then went to more permanent foster. These two fosters cared for and loved this sweet little girl beyond the perfection she already was. Then by chance, her new mom saw Hannah's most recent post and knew it was absolute fate.
When I arrived at Hannah's meet and greet, the connection between her and new fur brother Tko was instantaneous and undeniable. In fact, shortly after we arrived I felt like I was a guest walking into a family that had been intact forever.
Thank you Hannah for picking me to carry you through your journey home. As with all of my rescues, I'm blessed to be so lucky to have you in my life. Congratulations on furever my sweet. You deserve everything you have now ❤️
